Raine sat by the water in the Cove, a fishing rod dangling beside her as she thought. She was tired - very tired in fact, and somewhat lonely. She had been on this island for 5 years now, and hadn't aged a day and she was worried that this would drag on forever, the monotonous cycle of day following night.
TV didnt work here, nor did radio, so you were completely cut off from the outside world. It was fine for the ones who had come here at a tender age, they would be children forever and know no different as to what life could have been, out there in the real world.
Raine sighed. It was not one of her better days, but she hoped it would soon sort itself out. Hopefully, someone would come along and cheer her up.

Morgan walked slowly through the dense bushes towards the Cove. She had not long been here - she didn't even know f this was the right way to the Cove.
Her mind floated back to when her ship got here - her agent....she didn't know what had happened to him. She just woke up, on a beach...alone. She hoped her parents were alright, and her friends. No doubt they were worrying about her. She had tried phone them, but to no avail - it seemed that mobile phones didn't work around here.
Lost in her thought, she didnt see a tree root sticking up through the ground, and fell into a bush. "Ahhh!" she cried as she became covered in leaves and flower buds.

Hearing a cry, Raine snapped out of her daydream. She hurried down from the rock where she was standing, calling out, "Hello?"
She wasn't too bothered about her privacy being broken. This was, after all, an island filled with many people, and you were lucky if you could get the barest moments peace. As an archos, it was her duty to deal with people, and that meant being alert 24/7. Not that they obeyed hours here - it was all down to the sun with them.
"Hello?!" She called again, wandering into a thicket of trees. She saw a bush moving, and frowned in a confused fashion, before an arm, then a leg shot into the air, flailing around wildly. She hurried over to the woman and pulled apart the bush, holding out her hand to her after she'd detangled the worst of it. [/blockquote]

Morgan grasped the woman's hand, thankful for some help. The fall had disorientated her and she was also glad of company. This place gave her the creeps, if she was honest...
Finally Morgan stumbled to her feet, with the aide of this new person, and she smiled in thanks. "Wow, I didn't see that tree roo!" she gasped, "Thank you though, it kinda stopped my train of thought!"

"Don't worry about it." Raine answered. "This place is tricky and confusing, and it takes a long time to get used to it. You will get it though." She smiled pleasantly. "Were you looking for anywhere in particular? I've been here for a very long time and know it inside and out. I'm Raine. I'm one of the Archos of the island, which is our form of leadership, though far from the government you know."
Raine smiled again. "Here you're free to do anything you like so long as you pitch in with food gathering, water filtering and don't break the laws, which basically involve not hurting anyone, or stealing. There isn't much else you can do wrong on an island. She chuckled. "It's partly why our 'jail' is sitting around looking like it's never been touched. There isn't much point in breaking the law, you only alienate your friends, and you can't exactly move away." The tall girl chuckled at her own joke. "No one can get off of the island, believe me, we've tried."
She jerked her head, indicating that Morgan should follow, and walked back up on to her rock, then further behind her until she was on top of the cove, the highest point on the island. "You can see everything from here. This...is home." [/blockquote]

Morgan listened carefully as the woman spoke, thankful for someone obviously knowledgable in this place to tell her exactly...well, how to survive here. She felt a few pangs in her knee, where she must have hit it during her fall, and leaned down to rub the pain away.
Taking the woman's gesture to follow, Morgan did so, albiet a little slower than Raine. As she got the the top of the Cove, she gasped in amazement.
She could see almost the entire Island, and it looked beautiful. Somehow, being up here didn't feel like being stranded and left to die - it felt like being dropped onto a paradise Island.
Although her rationality soon returned, and she realised it was never as easy as it seemed. "Wow, this place sure is something." she said slowly, and turned to smile at Raine, "I'm Morgan, by the way." she said, holding her hand out to Raine.
