Staring off into the distance, Kyle had seated himself upon a boulder. One arm wrapped around his knee and the other resting upon the cold stone. Two months he had been on the Island, Two pretty long months. Not that he would complain about being here. It was paradise after all. Hearing something scuttle about in the sands, The eighteen year old's gaze was pulled from the horizon. Seeing a small red crab scurry about he nearly shrieked. Bringing his other leg up onto the boulder he remained there, Wide eyed and shaking. Crabs. Horrible, pinching beasts. He hated them. Loathed them they freaked him out, and on an island such as this. The crab population was large. But at least the red ones were tasty. The only type of crab Kyle liked was a cooked one.
"Go away!" He barked at the little beast-like creature. "Go.." Kyle repeated. Tentatively poking the crab with his bare foot. Big mistake. It's claw wrapped around his toe and pinched him. This time the eighteen year old did Shriek. He backed up onto the boulder shaking, Wide-eyed with fear and looking stupid. Hoping to god no one had seen that..

Raine was wandering along the beach with a dead fish in her hand, heading towards the main huts after being at the cove. She spotted Kyle and smiled.
"Hey! How are you?" She asked cheerfully, seeming unfazed by the fish she had caught. It was a common occurence here to be carrying some dead animal or another.
"Been approached by any of the new people yet?" She enquired, frowning. Some of the new survivors seemed to think of them as oddities, like natives they didn't want to approach, like they were dangerous. [/blockquote]

Kyle nearly jumped when Raine spoke. He had not seen her coming over "Oh hey, No I have not seen anyone yet, I am a little preoccupied with that" Pointing down to the crab which had given him a pinch Kyle shuddered "Could you get rid of it so I can actually get down from this rock?" Knowing he probably sounded like a baby, Though Kyle did not much care at this moment in time. "Please?"

Raine smiled, and put the fish on a rock. Stepping closer, she stood perfectly still for a moment, before grabbing the crab behind the claw. She bashed a rock off of it, killing it. It would make a good addition to dinner. "Come on down...that is, unless you mind dead crabs too." She chuckled, though she wasn't being unkind.
"I didnt know they frightened you...Kind of an unfortunate fear, living here. Why are you scared?" she asked. [/blockquote]

Kyle nodded "Tell me about it. I hate them" Getting down off the rock. Kyle smiled looking at the now dead crab and sticking his tounge out at it. He could at times be very. very childish. It came from being so sheltered and spoilt. "Thanks for murdering it for me though, Stupid thing got me in the toe"

Raine grinned. "Well, murdering animals for food is what I do best." She helped him down from the rock. "Maybe you should take it up - Bashing therapy... You'll soon see they're a lot more friendly when they're dead." She sat down cross-legged on the sand. [/blockquote]

"Crabs can never be friendly, Dead or not" Kyle laughed thanking her for the help. Slipping his trainers back on and sticking his hands into his pockets. "So other than looking out for food what have you been up to?" Kyle mused curiously

"Oh you know, scoping out the newcomers, talking to the residents. Things are looking like they're going to get crazy for a while, what with accomodation needing to be built and such." She looked over at the new ship that had wrecked, frowning. "They don't seem too friendly so far. It's odd." [/blockquote]
